Download Have Fun * Do Good Book Lists

After I published my list of Favorite Do-Good Books of 2008 with links to my lists for 2007, 2006 and 2005, a reader suggested that I create a PDF of all of the lists for folks to download, and take to the bookstore.

I thought this was a great idea. Anything to get folks to support their local bookstore! So, I opened a Scribd account, based on some Twitter pals' suggestions, to host the list.

Now, you can easily (I hope) download and share the Have Fun * Do Good Book List (2005-2008) for free. I've never used Scribd before, so let me know if you have any issues with it.

Happy reading!

  1. What a cool idea! What I love even more is the social media component - First, the idea of posting a pdf of the list was recommended by a reader, then the way you hosted it was recommended on Twitter. So neat.

  2. Britt,
Love the book list! I'm constantly impressed by your site and its ability to promote meaningful causes. I'm trying to drum up support for a number of groups on my blog. Can you take a look at my 'R or I Challenge' post and let me know what you think?

  4. Hi Christopher, Compound J and K, I'm glad you all like the list.

Compound J, I took a quick look at your site. I found the black background and white text very difficult to read. Has anyone else given you that feedback?

This is a great idea. I also have a recommendation that is more interactive and fun for book lists. Have you used Living Social's Books verical (www.livingsocial.com), or it's FaceBook app Visual Bookshelf? You can now create lists, then turn them into embeddable widgets (just FYI, go to the "manage" section to find how you create lists)! I'm inspired by your list and am going to create some myself!

  6. Hi Sokunthea Sa Chhabra,

I use both Visual Bookshelf and Goodreads on Facebook. I didn't know they had a widget. I'm going to go check it out. Thanks for the tip!
