I would recommend you go to her nonprofit's website, http://preventhumantrafficking.org.

You'll find information about human trafficking on the site, and you can email them if you need more information.Britt Bravohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02134123127272499735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15585808.post-47368180110351037402010-01-25T13:47:51.294-08:002010-01-25T13:47:51.294-08:00To whom it may concern:
Hello, I am Alesha Rourke ...To whom it may concern:
Hello, I am Alesha Rourke and I am in the ninth grade at Covenant Christian School in Leduc, Alberta. My class is doing a project that focuses on the injustice in the world. Our job is to make a difference and put a positive effect on this issue. So for my topic I chose Human Trafficking because it really interests me. I see advertisements for it everywhere and I want to be apart of eliminating Human Trafficking in our world. I don’t like the injustice that is going on, and I want to make a positive difference.
I realize you’re an expert in this area. If there is any additional information, or anything could you please send it to me, to help me learn more about this topic, I would appreciate it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read over my letter, and I hope you can help me with my project. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alesha Rourke

Email: alesurke19@imail.blackgold.ab.caAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15585808.post-82570275235593958892008-01-17T14:48:00.000-08:002008-01-17T14:48:00.000-08:00This is such an important issue and it's one that ...This is such an important issue and it's one that very rarely makes it into the mainstream media. Thanks very much for posting this interview.

I myself have often wondered if Natalee Holloway wasn't smuggled into a sex trafficking ring as has happened with many American girls who disappeared on vacation in the tropics. This definitely isn't a problem that only affects non-Westerners. It's all over the place.

Best wishes for your blog!

Snorg GirlSnorg Teeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15299466494391874032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15585808.post-75786782218097439302008-01-17T10:08:00.000-08:002008-01-17T10:08:00.000-08:00Hi Tushar!Thanks for letting Have Fun * Do Good re...Hi Tushar!

Thanks for letting Have Fun * Do Good readers know about UN.GIFT.

Just a little tip about commenting on people's blogs. It is usually wise to leave a short comment, rather than the equivalent of a whole blog post, with a link to more information.

Good luck with your blogger outreach!Britt Bravohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02134123127272499735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15585808.post-85603236726332562012008-01-16T23:05:00.000-08:002008-01-16T23:05:00.000-08:00UN.GIFT (United Nations Global Initiative to Fight...UN.GIFT (United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking ) website www.ungift.org aims to be an extension of UN GIFT activities worldwide. We would like it to evolve into a vibrant online community where people exchange views, showcase their work, talk about their experiences to strengthen the fight against human trafficking. With your help we can make it a valuable resource to take this fight forward. Organized crime of human trafficking needs a fitting organized response.

• It is time to join forces to prevent human trafficking.
• Give this global problem a global solution.
• Rally under the banner of the Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking.
• Get involved!
• Together we can save people and put traffickers behind bars.

UN.GIFT was formally launched in London on 26 March 2007. It is designed to have a long-term impact to create a turning point in the worldwide fight against human trafficking. 27million people are trafficked each year. UN.GIFT intends to take action against human trafficking in all its manifestations – commercial sexual exploitation, bonded labour, organ trade, camel jockeying, forced marriages, domestic labour, illegal adoption, and other exploitative work – through creating partnerships at a global level with all sectors of society.

The ultimate goal of the Global Initiative is to contribute to ending human trafficking– estimated to have a total market value of about $32 billion worldwide. UNODC has a two-pronged strategy for achieving this goal – increasing public awareness of the problem and coordinating existing but disparate efforts by international and national groups, governments and non-governmental organizations and by concerned individuals to end the practice.

Numerous regional GIFT events will culminate in Vienna with a Global Forum against Human Trafficking from 13th to 15th Feb 2008.

The objective of The Vienna Forum is to raise awareness, facilitate cooperation and partnerships among the various stakeholders. It will bring together representatives from Member States, UN system organizations, other regional and international organizations, the business community, academia, non-governmental organizations and other elements of civil society. The Forum will allow for an open environment to enable all parties involved to take concrete steps to fight human trafficking, within their spheres of action.

The Forum will be a catalyst for solution-seeking ideas and address three overriding themes on human trafficking:
1.Vulnerability: why does human trafficking happen;
2. Impact: human and social consequences of human trafficking;
3. Action: innovative approaches to solving complex problems.

The Vienna Forum will also consist of plenary sessions and a variety of panel discussions and workshops especially designed to address the multi-faceted dimensions of human trafficking.

TusharUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00432746039389650631noreply@blogger.com
