Chicagoites: I'll Be Speaking at the Making Media Connections Conference

Next week, June 13th and 14th, I'll be representing NetSquared, where I am the Community Builder, at the 2007 Making Media Connections Conference being put on by Community Media Workshop at Columbia College.

On the 13th I'll be co-facilitating an all day, "Leap Into the Web," workshop with Community Media Workshops' New Media Manager, Demetrio Maguigad, and on the 14th I'll be on the, "Good for the Web," panel along with Paul Baker of Webitects, Valerie Denney of Denney Communications, and Patrick Barry who worked with Valerie and Paul on newcommunities.org.

Keynote Speakers include Richard Steele, one of the hosts of Public Affairs Programming on Chicago Public Radio, who will talk about how traditional media is reinventing itself online, and human rights activist Loretta Ross, National Coordinator of Sistersong, who will speak about how and why nonprofits use the news to tell their stories.

If you want to attend, the pre-conference workshops, on Wednesday, June 13, cost $150 for full-day sessions and $75 for half-day sessions. The conference on Thursday, June 14 costs $150 per person; additional individuals from the same organization pay half-price, $75. You can register on the Conference web site.

If you come, say hi!
