"From today forward, I am going to document my process of fundraising, dealing with fear of flying, dealing with trying to plan and organize this trip while finishing school and raising these revolutionary daughters of mine."
Dani is part of the Santa Rosa Mama's Collective, a group for single and partnered mothers who are involved in the arts and activism. In fall of 2004, they took their children to protest the Republican National Convention. Now she's raising money so that she and her daughters can go to the World Social Forum, starting with a fundraiser on June 24th (flier pictured above). By partnering with the nonprofit, The Peace and Justice Center of Sonoma County, she will be able to accept donations.
In my interviews for Solutionary Women and the Big Vision podcast, I have heard the questions asked again and again, how do you change the world AND be a good parent? If you know of good examples of people who are balancing parenthood and activism, please email their name and contact info. to me at britt AT brittbravo.com
