How to Help After Hurricane Sandy

Growing up in Mystic, CT, I lived through two hurricanes: Gloria in 1985 and Bob (on my birthday!) in 1991.  I remember how it felt waiting for the storm to arrive, being scared while it was happening, and then going back out into the world to see the damage. Gloria and Bob were "regular" hurricanes. I can't imagine what the people who just went through Sandy felt, and are experiencing now.

I've been searching today for ways to help, and rounded up a collection of articles and websites that suggest ways to donate and volunteer. I haven't decided what helping action to take. Have you? Please share additional Sandy-related donation and volunteering ideas in the comments.
